Minimally Invasive Therapy with Injections or Acupuncture
Minimally Invasive Therapy (M.I.T.) is a pioneering therapeutic approach developed by Dr. med. Ioannis Bouhelos and has been successfully applied since 2000.
This method combines minimal invasiveness with high effectiveness, offering significant relief from musculoskeletal pain, chronic inflammation, and other dysfunctions of the body.

Core Principles of M.I.T.
Based on Neural Therapy, M.I.T. utilizes the injection of local anesthetics and other substances—such as glutathione—to regulate inflammation and restore cellular function. At the same time, it incorporates the Jean-Pierre Barral method, using General and Local Listening to accurately detect areas of dysfunction. This allows for greater precision in interventions, with fewer injections and increased effectiveness.
M.I.T. does not solely involve injections and acupuncture; it also includes Trigger Point manipulation through pressure techniques aimed at improving blood flow, relieving inflamed areas, and restoring the mobility of tissues and organs. This approach enables the body to reestablish its natural ability to manage chronic inflammation and limited functionality.
Significant improvement in a patient’s condition—such as pain reduction, a sense of well-being, and overall health restoration—is often noticeable from the very first sessions. M.I.T. offers a personalized therapeutic approach that supports the body's natural self-healing capacity, contributing to overall wellness and functionality.

The Role of Acupuncture in M.I.T.
Acupuncture in M.I.T. is applied based on myofascial diagnostic levels and the deeper structures of organs, targeting areas where traumatic memory is stored. The practitioner uses specialized techniques to trigger responses that activate decompression and relaxation mechanisms, positively affecting the nervous, musculoskeletal, vascular, lymphatic, and endocrine systems.
The key difference between M.I.T. acupuncture and classical acupuncture lies in needle placement, depth, and direction, according to General and Local Listening. The goal is not only to relieve symptoms but also to address the root cause of the issue, potentially influencing even the PNEI system (Psycho-Neuro-Endocrino-Immunology).

Action Mechanisms in M.I.T.
Body cells communicate through membranes that regulate metabolic and bioelectrical processes. When trauma or inflammation occurs, this cellular communication is disrupted, leading to chronic dysfunctions. By applying M.I.T., we help the body better manage inflammation and reactivate self-healing mechanisms.
Benefits of M.I.T.
M.I.T. acts on multiple systems within the body, offering:
-
Anti-inflammatory effects through neurotransmitter regulation
-
Activation of the endocannabinoid system
-
Enhanced tissue blood circulation
-
Trigger point relaxation
-
Improved immune system function

Expected Outcomes
Significant improvements, such as pain reduction, a sense of euphoria, and overall health recovery, are often felt from the first sessions. M.I.T. offers a tailored therapeutic approach that enhances the body’s natural healing abilities, supporting overall well-being and functionality.

Patient case studies
46 years old
Multiple Sclerosis for 20 years
The patient experienced a remission of her symptoms during breastfeeding of her second child. However, upon cessation of breastfeeding, all symptoms relapsed. She presented with weakness in the left lower limb, as well as numbness and instability.
After the first M.I.T. session, with glutathione injections in specific trigger points targeting balance correction, there was immediate improvement in her balance and overall condition.
The treatment continued in combination with intravenous (IV) infusions, leading to further improvement.

Rheumatoid Arthritis
In this seronegative patient (i.e., without positive markers for rheumatoid arthritis), the M.I.T. method was applied with glutathione injections in specifically diagnosed points along the spine.
During the injection, she experienced immediate relief from her symptoms.
After 15–17 sessions, including IV drips and local injections using the M.I.T. method, a complete alleviation of symptoms was observed, and her rheumatology medications were gradually discontinued.
The therapy also included appropriate dietary adjustments, as metabolic factors can contribute to relapse.
